Tips and Tricks

• If you move first, take the centre square. It sits on four of the eight winning lines, more than any other cell on the grid.
• When the centre is already taken, choose a corner rather than an edge. Corners belong to three lines each, edges to only two.
• Aim for a move that creates two lines of two at once. Your opponent can only block one of them, so the next turn wins.
• Before completing your own line, check whether the other side already has two in a row. Blocking comes first, because they move next.
