Matches Puzzle Game is a matchstick brain teaser with hundreds of short levels. Each level gives you a shape or an equation built out of matchsticks, along with an instruction such as moving one stick to make the sum correct or removing two to leave a set number of squares. The puzzles are small enough to read at a glance and awkward enough that the answer rarely comes immediately. Matchstick puzzles have been around long before browsers existed, and the appeal is unchanged: the solution is always simple once you see it, and completely invisible until you do. Levels are quick, so it works well in short bursts, and the difficulty climbs steadily as the collection goes on.

How to Play Matches Puzzle Game

Tap or click a matchstick to pick it up, then tap or click the position where you want it to go. Read the instruction at the top of each level first, because it tells you exactly how many sticks you may move, add or remove. Most levels include a reset option if you want to start the arrangement again.

Tips and Tricks

Read the instruction carefully before touching anything. Moving one stick and removing one stick are completely different puzzles.
For equation levels, look at the operator as well as the digits. A great many solutions come from turning a plus into a minus.
For shape counting levels, count the shapes of every size, not just the small ones. A large square made of four small ones still counts.
If you are stuck, reset the level and look at it fresh. Staring at a half moved arrangement makes the original pattern harder to see.
