About Lost World

Lost World is a 2D side-scrolling platformer built around a single-hit rule: one touch from a witch or a skeleton and the attempt is over. You play a young boy caught under a witch's spell, working through ten episodes that each lay out a fresh arrangement of ledges, gaps and patrolling enemies. Wooden and metal stakes are set into the ground and along narrow platforms, so pushing forward always has to be weighed against the risk of landing on something sharp. Sessions are short by nature and repeat in a useful way: you learn where a skeleton turns around, where a jump needs to be shorter than it looks, then clear the stretch that stopped you last time. What sets Lost World apart from gentler adventure platformers is that fragility, since there is no health bar to absorb a mistake.

How to Play Lost World

Move with the arrow keys or WASD and jump with the up arrow, W or the spacebar; on a phone or tablet use the on-screen buttons. Guide the boy to the end of each episode without touching a witch, a skeleton or a stake. A short press gives a small hop, while holding the jump control carries you further over gaps and beds of stakes.

Tips and Tricks

Stop before each new screen and watch the enemies for a few seconds. Witches and skeletons move on fixed paths, and knowing when one turns is worth more than fast reflexes.
Practise short hops. Many deaths come from overshooting a safe ledge and landing in stakes rather than from failing to clear a gap.
Land on flat ground rather than beside a stake cluster, then walk the last step or two. Precise footwork beats one ambitious leap.
When a section keeps ending your run, change your timing rather than your route. Waiting one beat longer often lets a patrolling enemy clear the platform you need.
